Recently, I had the opportunity to see James Ray, author of Harmonic Wealth, at a live event. I really enjoyed James’ positive message and his energy. It was really an inspiring and fun evening!

Here are several “gems’ from James that I’d like to share with you:

There are two levels of gratitude– what you are grateful for now and what you are grateful for in the future. Tip: when we trust that our goals and dreams will be fulfilled and stand in that trust & gratitude, watch out! Miracles can happen…

Fully expect to receive your dreams in advance.

Be grateful for your desires, because they inspire you to grow.

A great way to start your day? Write 6 action items every day and be grateful for your ability to achieve them.

Small changes = Big results

If you get up 1 hour earlier every day, you’d have 9 40-hour weeks per year!

4 Questions to Build Momentum
1. Am I prepared? (Usually no is the answer)
2. Is this decision/action in alignment with my vision?
3. Will this accelerate the achievement for my dream/goal/vision?
4. If money were no issue, would I make the decision?

Take these “gems’ and apply them and let me know your results!

So you’ve got a great idea for a new product or service. Now what? How do you know if your idea really is a good one? What’s the “process” for successful innovation? Here are 3 tips to take you from idea to implementation:

Brainstorm Potential Solutions – I recently did a call that is jam packed with “how to” jump start your creativity so that you have fresh, viable new ideas to work with. I highly recommend you listen to this as a starting point. They say that necessity is the mother of invention and on this call I teach you 7 ways to Rev’ Up Your Results with these creativity jump-starters. Here’s the link to the MP3 recording: Click here to listen…

Assemble a Top-Notch Team – Once you’ve got a great idea that you want to implement, then you need to assemble a top notch “dream team.” By creating a team culture of excellence, receptivity, respect, and a healthy dose of fun, creativity flourishes. That being said, assemble your team wisely! Identify the roles for your team. Who has the “creator energy? Who’s the “critical eye” on your team? ( They can help you to refine your idea and get rid of “bugs”) Who has the “get it done” energy? Many great ideas never get off the ground. Why? There isn’t someone in place to “drive the project forward.”

Make a Plan & Work Your Plan - A big mistake is to fall madly in love with your brilliant new idea and begin to take action on it without a plan and without the right support. You will booby-trap your success. Take the time to create your project plan. Project plans are easy to create and well worth doing. Bottom line? First, you will want to clearly identify your goal. Second, create a list of the steps involved (don’t overlook this part; write down every single step necessary to complete your objective). Third, designate WHO is responsible and WHEN the task deadline is. That’s it! Now you’ve got a way to move forward with your great new idea! No more flying by the seat of your pants!

I’d love to hear what your “Big Idea” is and how you “made it happen.” Let me know!

To Your Success,

Lots of people I know make elaborate To-Do lists as a way to get things done. These lists help to organize and prioritize the things they want to accomplish.

List making is actually an excellent tool to use — if you are okay with average results.

But it’s just not enough. If you want a really robust and rich life, you can’t make it happen with a To-Do list as your main strategy. I’m not knocking the To-Do list. In fact, I use one every day! Typically, the To-Do list is an ongoing list of tasks we need to take care of, such as checking out an online newsletter vendor to picking up movies at Blockbuster for your kids.

These tasks range from the necessary to the mundane AND usually are missing a critical piece. Your Big Picture Goals and Dreams!

What do you want to be able to say that you accomplished and experienced at the end of 2009?

Is it creating your own information product? Your own book?

Is it having a top notch website and blog?

Is it having a perfect team to support you?

Personal goals? Master a second language?

Heal a relationship?

Create deeper bonds and community?

Give back? Make a difference?

Expressing your creativity?

Write these important (and sometimes neglected) dreams down on paper.

The absolute fastest way to these Big Ticket Dreams and Goals of yours is to declare them first to yourself by writing them down on paper in vivid detail.

It’s a great idea to designate a special notebook to capture your creative ideas, thoughts, and scripts of what you want to accomplish and experience in the upcoming year.

Writing it down on paper activates the potential for it to happen. Once you’ve gotten it out of your head and onto paper, all of a sudden it becomes more realistic.

You’ve literally created a blueprint for your success! From your blueprint, you can break down your goal into a logical sequence of steps to be taken. Guess what? Your To-Do list is the perfect place to add these “bite size” tasks that lead you to the big time goal! The secret here is to make the time to take yourself and your important goals seriously. Write them down, create the plan, and take the actions needed to make it happen. The sky’s the limit!

To Your Success,

Absolutely everything has a cycle, a rhythm to it and your business is no different! Every business goes through cycles of highs and lows. How’s business for you? In my recent conversations with clients and colleagues, the consensus is that many are experiencing a “lull” in business activity. These “slow” periods in our businesses can be linked to a variety of reasons and two of the biggest factors are: the changing economy and seasonal effects (the holidays can either ignite your business or cool it way down).

So, how to make the best use of your time during a slow down period in your business? Well, I’ve got good news for you. Slow downs are a remarkable opportunity for business owners to revitalize their business, create a sharper focus, and position themselves for better results!

When your calendar suddenly reveals to you some open spaces, don’t panic. Better idea? Get excited and roll up your sleeves. Now you’ve got some extra time. Use it to fine tune your business plans, goals, and dreams.

7 Ways to Rev Up Your Business During a Slump

Clear Out the Clutter – Go on a Wild Clean-Out Spree! Take a few spare hours to clear all the clutter from your office, your desk, your files, your calendar, your books, emails, and your computer. Getting rid of clutter is enormously useful! Streamline your life and you will be rewarded with a renewed sense of purpose and laser-like focus. Clear out your clutter today!

Do a Year Review – Take some time to review this past year. What worked well? What did not work well? What were your most profitable months/projects? What did you enjoy most about this past year? What would you like to accomplish in the year ahead?

Update Your Systems – Michael Gerber, Business Guru, says that ALL businesses need to have systems in place in order to thrive. Pick a part of your business that you can create a step by step system for and document it. Some places to start? Systemize your sales conversion process, your client intake process or your billing process. Systems are a business “life-saver” and will help you stay focused and on track with A LOT fewer headaches!

Learn or Master a New Skill – OK people, tell the truth here. How many of us have purchased books, ebooks and courses that are sitting on our shelves collecting dust? Now is the IDEAL time to commit to learning or mastering a new and profitable skill set. Now’s a great time to master and fully utilize Linked-In, Twitter or affiliate marketing! Go for it. Your bank account will be happy.

Take a Trip – Got a few extra days with not much activity? Pack your bag and go on a spontaneous get away. A new environment, some good food, new sights all make for a re-energized soul. Let your hair down, go have an adventure! I promise you’ll come back to your office with a fresh sense of purpose and energy! Bon Voyage!

Reconnect to your Passions and Values – This could be the perfect time to rendezvous with your hobbies, interests, and community projects. What makes you feel most alive, useful and on purpose? Use some of your free time and get involved. If not now, when?

The bottom line? All businesses have cycles of high and low activity. When things are in a slow-down mode, don’t let a little slump get you down! Put on your creativity cap and explore your possibilities. Rev up your business today. Before you know it, you will soar with new found focus and energy. The sky’s the limit!

Are you overdoing it by doing it all yourself?

HUGE mistake.

You must and I repeat…You must learn to delegate.

I know, I know, I can hear you saying – yes, but…

1. I don’t have the cash flow to pay for assistants

2. I wouldn’t know what to delegate

3. No one can do it as well as I would do it, so that’s why I do it myself.

My simple answer to all 3 objections is this:

You cannot afford not to learn to delegate. You just can’t! Do an honest inventory and track your time. Exactly what do you do each and every day? Most people are busy from sun up to sun down doing lots of things that need to get done (administrative tasks, errands, housework) but are not making progress with the big goals that they have.

Something is wrong with this picture!

Successful people know this secret. They know the value of their time. They understand that spending time doing tasks that someone else could handle for them, allows them the time to do what they are skilled at and can make money from!

Strengthen your business and your personal life by learning to say NO, I’m not going to do it all myself. I’m committed to working smarter, not harder!!!!

Say YES to delegating. By delegating, you maximize and leverage your skills, so that you can make more money and enjoy more freedom. Isn’t that what you want?

Wondering where to start? A great resource is your local high school. Hire an honor student to do personal errands and light administrative work. You will LOVE the extra free time this will allow you.

For more specialized tasks, I gladly pay more for expert help. Try these 2 great resources for your projects and administrative needs.
